Celebrating European Day of Languages

To mark European Day of Languages, our students took part in a creative cake-baking challenge that combined culture, language and a lot of icing sugar!

Organised by our Modern Foreign Language (MFL) Department, the event invited learners to bake cakes inspired by European countries and languages.

Students served up an array of colourful concepts, each one bursting with personality! From French patisserie to Italian classics, each cake told a story and celebrated the diversity of Europe.

European Day of Languages, held every year on 26th September, is all about promoting language learning and recognising the many languages spoken across the continent. At Judgemeadow, we wanted to make the day fun and memorable, while encouraging students to explore different cultures in a hands-on way.

Laure Peyre, Head of Languages, said: “We wanted to celebrate the richness of European languages in a fun and engaging way.

“The students really embraced the challenge. Their cakes were not only beautifully made but also reflected a genuine appreciation for the cultures they represented.”

It was a brilliant way to bring learning to life, and we’re proud of everyone who took part.
